Apologies for the ohsoplain banner. Last minute work.
You are all cordially invited to St. George's Girls' School's original musical drama, Hope. Details are as shown above. Don't worry, tickets are sold on the day itself :)
It's full of drama, suspense, dances, singing, music.
Music; I have to say that most of the songs are composed by the music coordinator and director. All songs are rearranged to complement the stage production.
Oh, and about the dances; don't expect everyday common hiphop genre. There's a lot of ballet, modern, jazz and broadway here. A Lot.
Have been practicing for about 10 hours everyday. It's insane, the way we're skipping classes, the way we sacrifice our time and effort for this musical. Maybe it's just the satisfaction and joy of being part of a large production. Maybe it's just about having fun. Maybe. I don't know :\ I know, though, that it's a hell of a journey.
Practices have been so tiring, because just for one number, we have about 10 people dancing on stage. And so during practice, when one person does it wrong, we start all over again. When one person doesn't smile, the whole team gets a how-important-facial-expressions-are-in-musicals lecture. When the timing is out, repeat. When someone sings out of key while dancing,
Alyssa (music coordinator) runs through the whole 4-minute song with us again.
It's hell. Especially when we're having rehearsals with the 30 member band. So many people are involved, and if you, one person gets it wrong, you feel.. like shit, to say the least. :)
And practices aren't only during school hours. Saturdays, emergency night meetings at
Andrea's place to go through routines. Had to overnight at Andrea's the day before yesterday. Haha such a fun time :P Ladies' pledge. Lmao :P
8am-12pm: Dance practice & voice check.12-1pm: Lunch.1-6pm: Dewan Sri Pinang, rehearsal.Fulldress rehearsal tomorrow.
Hope (no pun intended) everything goes on smoothly!
I just had to post this pic of Andrea; so pretty :)
Oh, she's the dance choreographer, by the way.
